JoomEcom was born out of necessity.  Our company has used osCommerce (osC) for years and struggled with the default inventory management in osC. This is not a fault of osC per say, which is first a core ecommerce site. It was never really meant to be a sophisticated inventory management system. So we started looking around for a low cost, but robust inventory management system for small to medium sized businesses. We found some solutions that required us to send our data out of our database.  We didn't like those models.  We found some that required downloading data and formatting for a desktop solution.  This was way too much busy work and most of these models cost $1000's of dollars, which was ridiculous for a small business owner.  So we built our own that perfectly integrates into osC.
